I’ve been tracking my progress on Instagram (@ketoesq), with daily stuff. Since this is my sports law website, I try not to clutter it up with daily ramblings and pictures on weight loss. Of course, I’ll document my milestones like below!
Previous #KetoLife updates:
So, I finally hit my goal. And I even hit it ahead of the deadline I set for myself: Sub-175 pounds by the start of summer. I’m actually now well below it, at 173.2 pounds.

I didn’t jump up and down when I stepped on the scale and saw the number (generally it’s not good to jump on electronics).
I didn’t cry.
I didn’t call my parents.
I just kind of…smiled.
It might be because I’d been seeing steady progress over the last two weeks or so after a bit of a plateau. When you see the scale dropping by a pound every couple of days, you just get used to the progress I suppose. I’d been doing everything I’d been doing since I committed to Keto: tracking my macros, taking my supplements and exercising. Nothing has really changed.
It’s just become a way of life, I guess, so I’m used to the routine. It’s worked well for me obviously and while I didn’t have a burst of emotions, I’m absolutely thrilled with the results. Being honest with myself, I hadn’t been looking after my health for years.
So, what do I do next?
Well, I’ve adjusted my weight goal downward to 167. Because of the hard work and dedication, I’m sure I’ll hit that soon enough (heck, maybe even by mid-July). From there, I don’t see myself changing my diet much at all. For one thing, going back to my old eating habits is a recipe to put a bunch of weight back on (and I just donated my older big clothes). Secondly–and more importantly: I don’t want to. I’m enjoying all of the extra energy I have. I like going to the gym and exercising. I know I’m much healthier.
There are plenty of delicious Keto-compliant foods and desserts should I want to indulge a bit more on occasion. But I don’t really feel the need to head to McDonalds or Taco Bell at this point. So I’ll just keep doing what I’m doing. I’ll probably try to tone up some of the excess flab/skin, so I’ll focus a bit more on weight training once I drop a few more pounds. And then I’ll just maintain. As they say in Keto: KCKO (Keep calm; Keto on)!
